Sony sets its crack team of programmers to work fixing the latest jail break

jail

They release v3.42 but unfortunately didn't have time to develop cross game chat

Sony released PS3 firmware version 3.42 yesterday that according to the official blog:

" [PS3] software update v3.42 that includes additional security features.  "

PC World are claiming that this translates to blocking the latest 'exploit' which lets you jailbreak your PS3 so you can run custom software

This little device came to the attention of the world a few weeks ago as it claims to:

" lets you play pirated as well as homemade games on a retail PS3 by converting it into a "debug" unit, a special version of the PS3 used by developers and others to access non-retail versions of games. "

Sony haven't officially confirmed this but it would make sense they'd want to do this as they've already taken action to get sales of the device blocked

Again also according to PC World other users are saying the update also:

" 'fixed' the PS3's internet browser, noting the "font now seems bold and easier to read while browsing "

The real problem here is that Sony developed a fix for this 'problem' in a few weeks yet they've had years to develop cross game chat and still haven't managed it. Cross game chat would benefit thousands of users this update benefits .... ?
